I'm thinking of writing a letter (as in hand-written, stuffed in a blue mailbox letter) to my soon-to-be new neighbors to introduce myself and my family. What do you think?

Awww, that's sweet! They'll know who you are and a little something about you before you show up on moving day. It'll make things less awkward when you first meet.
Niki, that is creepy and weird. Who does that? Just knock on their door or wait till you happen to see them after you move in.
