Everyone's been abuzz lately on NTUC's idea that working moms be given additional 6 months paid maternity leave plus an optional 6 months unpaid. Do you think this will work?
Yes, I think that will encourage working moms to conceive as it allows them a longer time to recover from child birth and bond more with their baby without the added work stress.
No, there are other factors that come into play on conceiving like medical bills and infant/childcare costs in the long run.
I think having more child care leave days and flexi working hours for both parents work better as they’re longer-term solutions.
Maybe, it’s worth a try to see if it’s effective!
