Is it necessary to separate the acting awards at the Oscars by gender? If good acting is good acting, should chromosomes play a role at all?

You know, I think that separating the acting awards by gender actually HELPS women get some. (Wait...not like that...)
Bish, please; separating the awards by gender is not necessary. Good acting is good acting, with any chromosome combo.
I'd like to get rid of the gender categories, but only because I'd like to see Mickey O'Rourke pwn Meryl Streep.
