When you need to tell someone bad news... Which method would you use?

Tell them in person.
Tell them on the phone.
Send them a Text message.
Send them an emaiil message.
Write them a letter and mail it.
Write them a note. And maybe give it to them.
Do nothing, don't like to tell bad news.
