When you were a kid, did "smart toys" (toys that interact with you) such as Furbies, help you learn or creep you out?

I enoyed them a lot, they were/are fun to play with.
I hated them, they creeped the shit out of me.
They were fun to a point, but got annoying after awhile.
I never had any.
