What are the reasons for being late to class?

If they are old enough to drive, the car wouldn't start, or it broke down.
If they walk, the weather or traffice could be a factor, same with bus/ train/ underground.
They just plain overslept.
Couldn't find something important, like homework.
They had a doctors appointment.
Whoever was giving them a ride forgot to pick them up.
Sick, but decided to put themselves together and come anyway.
Hair/makeup/clothes emergency.
Sibling running late, thus running them late.
Other.
