Have you tried Google Sidebar (Bundled with Desktop Search). If yes, why do you think that it was a not that market catching?

It came bundled with Google Desktop Search man!! I want it alone..!!

Memory Hogging.. Even TuneUp recommends for it's removal.
I hate docking sidebars.
I Only like Gadgets which are on my desktop. Cute Cute and Stylish and not some sidecrap.
