**AGAINST SB 969** If SB 969 goes into effect, there is a possibility of closure to PATTY'S PET PARLOR, and many other small grooming shops. The Veterinary Medical Board (VMB) is trying to get Senator Vargas to pass this BILL requiring ALL grooming facilities to become licensed. We would be required to take a grooming test and written test before being issued a grooming license. There will be a number of fees totaling $1750 just to be able to get the license to be capable of keeping my shop opened. Additionally, there will be several annual fees to stay opened. As you know, I among several other small businesses, cannot afford to pay for such ridiculous fees to stay open. They also want to control the temperature of my shop and with the new law, we won't be allowed to cage sibling pets together, even though you would prefer your pets together during their time at the groomers. Further more, if Senator Vargas passes SB 969, I and many other small businesses will be forced to close, leaving only the veterinary clinics and other corporate facilities opened for grooming. The higher grooming fees, in turn, will be forced upon you as pet owners. I'm asking for your signature to help fight the VMB in their request to push for SB 969. AGAINST SB 969
