Football vs. Western Michigan (Sept. 7, 2013) - The Colonels picked up their third win in school history against an FBS program with a 27-23 decision at Western Michigan. Kalen Henderson led Nicholls to a big lead in the first half before leaving the game in the second quarter with a leg injury. Tuskani Figaro stepped in admirably, Andrew Dolan connected on a pair of late field goals and Josh Dewey intercepted a pass in the end zone in the final seconds, giving Nicholls the upset.

Soccer vs. Sam Houston State (Nov. 3, 2013) - With their season on the line, the Colonels’ Spencer Valdespino delivered the winning goal in the 83rd minute - just moments after Sam Houston had tied the match - sending Nicholls to the Southland Conference tournament for the first time since 2004. With the triumph, the team broke the program record for highest finish in the standings and conference victories.

Men’s Basketball vs. Oral Roberts (Jan. 30, 2014) - Playing in front of an international TV audience and a packed Stopher Gym crowd, Nicholls trailed by as many as eight points with less than 10 minutes left in the game, Nicholls got big shot after big shot from Jeremy Smith, Dantrell Thomas and the crew, forcing overtime and eventually defeating Oral Roberts, 73-72.

Women’s Basketball at Stephen F. Austin (Feb. 6, 2014) - After Emani White's last-second 30-footer sent the game into overtime, the sophomore came through again in double overtime with the game-winning jumper with 5.8 seconds left and Jasmine Scott swatted away Stephen F. Austin's final shot as the Nicholls defeated the Ladyjacks, 75-74 in Nacogdoches.

Baseball vs. Oral Roberts (Mar. 30, 2014) - Brandon Jackson held his own in a pitcher’s duel and with two on and two gone in the bottom of the ninth, Christian Correa came through with the game-winning hit, giving Nicholls a 2-1 win over Oral Roberts, clinching the Southland series and keeping the Dirty Red in sole possession of first place in the league standings.
