TUSKANI FIGARO - After starting the season as the third-sting quarterback, Figaro was thrust into action late in the first half of the Western Michigan game, rushing 15 times for 72 yards and completing a pair of passes for 66 yards to help Nicholls upset the Broncos. He was recognized by Tim Brando of CBS Sports Network and given the Hambone Award, which is bestowed upon a non-BCS player who was critical in his team's victory.
MISSY McGUIRE - McGuire was among a select group of Nicholls culinary students who worked at the Masters golf tournament this April, serving in a wide range of support jobs at the Augusta National Golf Club. Some had a chance to work in the Champions Locker, where celebrity golfers dine. The news was featured in a number of national publications
BYRON COBB - While sitting courtside with the baseball team prior to a Spurs-Lakers game in San Antonio, Cobb nailed a shot from three rows deep, much to the amazement of the Lakers players and personnel. Video of the shot appeared on Sports Illustrated's Extra Mustard and was featured on a French sports website, where Cobb was touted as a potential replacement for Steve Nash.
