Who cares if it's not out by Christmas?!? I plan to buy four copies! DO IT ANYWAY!!!
CDs suck but don't take as long to manufacture. Do it on CD instead.
MP3's suck too, but at least we'd get it instantly. Make it available as a digital download.
You've already suffered enough... put it out next year instead.
