It depends what you believe the goal for our prison system should be. If you believe the goal of our prison system should be to rehabilitate prisoners to become functioning members of society again, then no, there are few examples of this. However, our prison system does take dangerous and corrupt people out of society, which I think is a good thing. I think our prison system needs work to help those who fall subject to it, but does a spot on job of incarcerating those guilty of crimes and therefore providing a safer standard of living.
