Professionally speaking, if your team had a phenomenal year and posted more than a million dollars in net profit; what would you do if your boss (chairman of the board), without any prior indication of poor performance told you he wanted you to have a "business partner" and then proceeded to conduct that search without your imput (thus far) would you:

Update your resume-keep your eyes open & watch your back,

Keep an open mind and learn from this crazy shit,

Quit bitching (you're the CEO), and deal with it,

Quit,

Throw a party because you welcome the fact that your boss recognizes you have too much on your plate and forget about his horrible approach,

Get mad AND get even

I would ask the boss what prompted the decision to hire a partner. It could be that the boss is planning to promote me!

Open a dialog with the cob. Seek understanding while keeping your ego in check.

Why change your still profitable

Combine: a, b, d and e. But, most important is open communication.

Combination of update resume and stay alert while also hoping that boss recognizes you may need some assistance and are overloaded
