You're on a budget but going to Oak Island for summer vacation. You have 2 vacation houses to choose from. 1st house costs $900 dollars a week to rent, has an ocean view but is sparsely furnished, outdated, and provides few amenities. 2nd house costs $800 dollars a week to rent, is located closer to the Intracoastal Waterway, is updated, comfortably furnished, provides generous amenities and is just under a mile walk to the beach. Which house do you choose to rent?

1st house. I'm willing to sacrifice comfort, amenities and pay more to be closer to the beach.
2nd house. It's cheaper, comfort is important. I don't mind walking, biking or taking a short drive to the beach.
I want a view at least or short walk. But I will not rent a house with old ratty furniture, small tv's, etc just because it's cheap. I would just rather not go.
I would like a house close to the beech but like nice furniture etc

We like ocean front. After renting the same cottage for 20 years, we moved to a different one because they NEVER updated anything, other than replacing a worn out appliance. Even taking over a pantry and cabinet that were previously empty for use by renters. And addd more junky decor. Any rental house should update at least once in 20 years!

Neither one! We go o vacation once a year with our family and we would pay more for the house on the beach that is updated and confortable with amenitie

We have only rented beach front since 1998
We've been spoiled with oceanfront houses for tooooo long! I'd rather have a clean oceanfront house with fewer amenities than a fully decked out second row house! We live for our week on the beach during the day and the sound of the surf, stars and strong breeze sitting out on our deck at night!!

ocean front is a must. We spend too much time sitting on the deck looking and listening to the ocean to not be right there. WIsh there were more beach front houses that are UPDATED!
There needs to be more places that are oceanfront or close that are affordable and nice!

Want ocean side or view so I will not stay in old run down or out dated but I also will not be away from the beach So with that said if it cost 500 more I'll spend it

Being on or very near the ocean is very important to me when planning for a vacation. Equally important is clean and comfortable furnishings. The house that I rent will be my family's home for the time that we are there and we have an expectation that it meets or exceeds the standards that we have for our own home
