Should bump stocks (nothing else) be banned, given they circumvent existing 1986 ban on new automatic firearms (FOPA) passed overwhelmingly by both parties and President Reagan, and bump stocks were used to retrofit semi-autos for mass shootings eg Las Vegas?

No, but require mandatory background checks for criminal record, psychiatrically-certified serious mental illness, and terrorist watchlist. Regulate like any other gun.
