I have one simple question: Are you more likely to contribute to a local charity than one that distributes the funds nationwide? For example, if you live in Maryland and know that your donations will help children in poverty within your city or state, would you be more likely to contribute?

Psychology Lifestyle Question for you: A single mom rears her child on her own, sacrificing everything (passing up good jobs, passing up higher degrees) in order to focus on her child and make sure that child gets what she needs to succeed. Her daughter grows up and is a great success but her mom is not in a good place due to putting her life on hold for her child. How many of you feel the mom is now in a place to ask her successful adult daughter for help, if means a temporary sacrifice for her daughter?

DO YOU THINK THAT AS A SOCIETY, PEOPLE NEED TO STOP GETTING INVOLVED IN OTHER PEOPLE'S BUSINESS? FOR EXAMPLE, WHEN A PARENT SPANKS HIS/HER CHILD, PEOPLE TURN THEM IN TO DHS. I GREW UP FEARING THE BELT!!! WHEN I GOT SPANKED I KNEW WHAT I DID WRONG, AND DIDN'T DO IT AGAIN! I CAN'T TELL YOU ALL THE TIMES I HAVE BEEN GROUNDED, OR WHAT I GOT GROUNDED FOR. DO YOU THINK THAT WE SHOULD BE ABLE TO RAISE OUR CHILDREN AS WE SEE FIT, INCLUDING PUNISHMENTS (WITHIN REASON....DON'T BEAT THE LIVING FUCK OUT OF THEM)? SO THE QUESTION I AM ASKING FOR YOUR OPINION ON IS: "SHOULD WE ALLOW PARENTS TO PARENT THEIR CHILDREN AND STAY OUT OF THEIR BUSINESS LIKE IT WAS WHEN WE WERE BEING RAISED? OR SHOULD WE REPORT ANYONE WE SEE THAT YELLS AT THEIR KID, OR USES SPANKING AS A CORRECTIVE ACTION TOOL?"
