Tahun 2014, Badan Eksekutif Mahasiswa Universitas (BEM-U) atau yang saat ini disebut Dewan Mahasiswa Universitas (Dema-U) dibekukan karena sengketa hasil dalam Pemilihan Mahasiswa (Pemilma). Dan di tahun 2016, sudah dua kali juga Wakil Rektor Bidang Kemahasiswaan dan Alumni Prof St Aisyah mengajukan pengembalian Dema-U saat Rapat Pimpinan namun selalu ditolak.
