Ten acts split this field so hard that Graduating Summer's win came on just 15.1% of the vote — the thinnest possible margin over Modern Day Satire, tied at 354 votes apiece. Graduating Summer led from day one, but the margin kept shrinking: a 38% cushion on day one bled down to 15% by the finish, as Thee Opening and Purple Silence ate into the lead from behind without ever catching it.

The United States — the single biggest voting bloc — didn't back the winner at all. American voters leaned Modern Day Satire, while Graduating Summer's strength ran through Iowa hometowns: Cedar Falls, Waverly, Cedar Rapids, Iowa City. A local favorite held on against a national plurality that wanted someone else.
