Karim Ziani finished first in the 11-player poll with 392 votes, or 21.4%, and led at every checkpoint. Yet the result was broadly dispersed: Karim Matmour and Madjid Bougherra each finished within 164 votes of the winner, while four players exceeded 10%.

The largest country bloc, Algeria, leaned toward Faouzi Chaouchi rather than Ziani. Gender data also separated the top two: Ziani’s voters were 21 female to 5 male, while Matmour’s were nearly even at 7 female to 6 male.
