Nearly one in two voters — 2,479 of 4,860 — committed to Italia-Paraguay from day one, and the field never closed the gap. The margin actually widened as the poll aged: a 46% share in the middle stretch climbed back to 51% by the close, meaning late deciders reinforced the favorite rather than chip at it.
The rejection was just as loud. Italia-Slovacchia trailed by 22 points at the finish, and any combination without Italia drew barely 8% combined. Men outvoted women roughly 40 to 1 on the leading pick, and Italy's own voters — the single biggest country bloc — backed it hardest of all.
