The verdict wasn't close: 2,627 votes (60.6%) say let Niang leave in recognition of what he gave the club, against 1,709 (39.4%) who'd rather keep him and put the team first. Once the gap opened past day 20, it only widened, settling into a clean 6-in-10 majority for the rest of the poll's 71 days.
The split runs along gender lines more than geography. Men voted 127-73 to let him go — nearly 2-to-1 — while women were almost evenly torn, 12 for keeping him against 11 for letting him leave. France, the heaviest voting bloc at 76 votes, backed the exit; the small US contingent leaned the opposite way, wanting him to stay.
