In a Facebook poll of 2,435 respondents, 48.2% chose “1- احمد من مصر”. How we count
Ahmed pulled 1,174 votes for the outright win, but the two names chasing him — both "from Morocco" — combined for 1,261, technically outnumbering him. What kept him on top for all 27 days is that they never combined: Karima and Karim split their shared base roughly three-to-two, so neither ever closed on his single-option share of 48%.
Gender barely moved the needle between options — roughly four in five voters were women for Ahmed, Karima, and Karim alike, so this wasn't a gender fight. Geography drew the real line: Egypt's 69 votes backed Ahmed almost exclusively, while Morocco, the US, Algeria, and Israel all leaned toward Karima — home turf versus everywhere else.
- Flat lead · Ahmed held 46-48% every single day across 27 days
- Fractured opposition · Karima + Karim topped Ahmed combined, but split it and lost
- No gender divide · All three options drew roughly 4-in-5 female voters
- Home turf vs. rest · Egypt backed Ahmed; Morocco, US, Algeria, Israel leaned Karima
