North Carolina emerged as the leading state viewers called home, receiving 331 votes and 18.1%. It led at every checkpoint, but the result was a plurality rather than a mandate in a field of 56 options.
Alabama finished second with 130 votes, followed by South Carolina with 101 and Tennessee with 96. North Carolina’s total exceeded Alabama’s by 201 votes, while the 10 highest-ranked states together accounted for less than half the poll.
