Rohit Sharma opened strong, leading by 77% on day 1. But the surge was short-lived: by day 2, Rishi Goswami flipped the race and built a 44% lead that barely moved for the next 28 days, cementing a 42% cushion he held all the way to the finish.
The final tally was a blowout — Goswami took 72.7% (54,823 votes) to Sharma's 25.7% (19,413), with nine other Thumpians splitting scraps under 1% each. India drove the vote (669 of the sampled ballots) and leaned hard for Goswami, while the small US contingent stayed loyal to Sharma to the end.
