sometimes. But I also find I can use the phone to engage with the kids. They like seeing pictures of their friends on Facebook. Or when they ask me questions I don't know the answer to, we can look it up together --- example "mom, what eats a tiger?"

Ummm...

Didn't have smart phones in my day. But it would have been a distraction for sure.
