Here's my theory: Everything one consumes is either a food or a beverage. If it is a food, I eat it. If it is a beverage, I drink it. Therefore, if it goes through a straw it is, by definition, a beverage and can therefore be counted towards my goal of drinking 100oz of water a day. This can (and does) include: kool aid, lemonade, fruit smoothies, chocolate shakes, Bailey's, a frozen mudslide, straight up whiskey etc. Amirite? (Yes, there may indeed be a bet riding on how the votes go, so choose wisely. It's not as if our continuing friendship depends on the answer or anything. :) ))

Damn Straight, Susanna. Who doesn't count wine as a beverage? Even Jesus thought they were interchangeable.

No. A chocolate shake cannot count as water. Ever. Get a grip. Wait. Alcohol, you say? I need to reconsider this ridiculous position even more than I need a shot of fireball right now.
