Hey Facebook. I wondered if you guys could help settle a small debate I have with friends, regarding road trip ethics. So I was on a road trip with friends, 4 of us in total. It was around South America and it involved driving through several countries with different speed limits and road rules. Throughout the entire trip everything was split evenly including car hire, hotels, gas, food, drinks, taxis etc etc Several weeks later, a speeding fine shows up, we know who was driving. He wasn’t spending intentionally or driving in anyway unsafe. Obviously legally the driver is responsible to cover the fine, but what’s the general consensus on the moral right thing to do in regards to settling the fine?

A) The driver should be aware of the speeding limits and should pay the fine themselves.

B) The group should share the cost, as was the practice the whole trip. It could have been any of the group that got the ticket.
