When conversation starts with a stranger, voters most often want to discuss things they are passionate about. That option won 439 votes, or 39.2%, comfortably ahead of the 23.4% who said they would never talk to a stranger.
The preference held throughout 42 days, with “Things I'm passionate about” leading every checkpoint. Women formed the larger group behind each of the top three choices, including a 50-to-26 edge for the winner.
