In a Facebook poll of 3,808 respondents, 29.5% chose “Samantha McNamara (BravO!)”. How we count

Fourteen dancers split the vote so thin that Samantha McNamara won the Icon title with just 29.5% of 3,808 votes — barely ahead of Mia Diaz's 26.7%. Together the top two account for over half the field; the other twelve options combined for under 44%, with five finishers scraping by on less than 2% each.

Getting there wasn't calm: the lead swapped three times in the first week — Diaz opened on top, McNamara grabbed it on day 5, Diaz snatched it back a day later, then McNamara reclaimed it on day 7 and held it through day 13. Diaz's coalition also skewed more female — 888 women to 121 men — than McNamara's 861-to-252 split, yet the wider base won out.

  • Plurality, Not Mandate · Winner took just 29.5% of 3,808 votes across 14 names.
  • Triple Lead Change · The lead flipped three times in the first week alone.
  • Female-Skewed Runner-Up · Diaz's base ran 7-to-1 female, McNamara's closer to 3-to-1.
  • US Home Turf · 755 U.S. votes leaned toward McNamara, the eventual winner.
