No single Azzurro answer came close to a majority: six options split the vote so evenly that the top finisher, ALTRO, needed just over a quarter of the room to win. Quagliarella, De Rossi and Buffon all landed within striking distance, separated by six points combined — proof this was a genuine six-way scrap, not a coronation.
Italy itself, the largest single voting bloc in the poll, didn't pick the winner — its 90 votes leaned De Rossi, who finished third overall. The country closest to the subject disagreed with the room, while Quaglierella held a lead through day 4 before ALTRO edged ahead by day 5 and stayed there the rest of the way.
- Fragmented field · Winner ALTRO took just 26.5% — barely a plurality
- Home turf split · Italy's own voters favored De Rossi, not the winner
- Photo finish · Quagliarella, De Rossi, Buffon separated by 6 points
