Passengers held a commanding lead through the first five days, up by as much as 40 points early on. Then, on day six, Music overtook it — and from that point on, the standings barely moved. For the next 25 days, straight through to the finish, Music's margin over the field stayed locked in the high-20s, day after day.
But steady doesn't mean dominant: Music closed out with just 26.7% (616 votes) in a seven-way field, edging Phone's 25.5% (589) by only 1.2 points — meaning nearly three in four voters picked something else. Geography split too: the U.S. leaned Music, but Canada backed Passengers the whole way, the poll's lone real regional holdout.
- Day 6 flip · Passengers' 40-point early lead vanished the moment Music took over.
- 25 days frozen · Music's margin over the field barely changed for the rest of the poll.
- Photo finish for 2nd · Phone finished just 1.2 points behind Music, 25.5% to 26.7%.
- Canada bucks the trend · Canada leaned Passengers while the U.S. and most countries leaned Music.
