The Escape turned this 13-band contest in its opening stretch, moving from behind Kill The Doctor to the lead by day 2. After that, the order barely budged, with The Escape finishing on 21.8%—just 25 votes ahead of Shatter Effect.
It was a plurality, not a mandate: 256 votes secured the slot from a field of 1,177.
