This wasn't close at any point — SI opened at 97% on day one and held that exact share for all 20 days, finishing 2,228 to 77. With 2,305 votes cast, the 3.3% NO camp never grew past a rounding error, and nothing in the daily record shows it gaining ground.
The consensus crossed every line that usually splits a poll. Men and women backed SI in near-identical proportion (1,187M/1,019F for SI vs. 48M/28F for NO), and geography barely mattered: Costa Rica, Venezuela and the U.S. — the three biggest vote sources — all leaned SI by the same lopsided margin.
- Steady from day one · SI held 97% every single day, no shift across 20 days
- Cross-border agreement · Costa Rica, Venezuela, and the U.S. all leaned SI alike
- Gender lined up · Men and women backed SI in nearly the same ratio
