Player of the Round | Quarter-finals 1st Leg - VELUX EHF Champions League
In a Facebook poll of 2,712 respondents, 33.9% chose “LP - Stojanche Stoilov (Vardar)”. How we count
Stoilov opened with a blowout, up 63% over the field on day one. Then Hungary showed up for its goalkeeper: by day two Roland Mikler had flipped the standings, leading by 29%. Stoilov's Macedonian base answered on day three, retaking the top spot by 33% and holding it through the final day to close at 33.9%.
Behind that swing sat a three-country tug-of-war: Macedonia drove Stoilov, Hungary drove Mikler, Croatia drove Stepancic - who outlasted the rest for second at 26.4% without ever topping the standings himself. Voting patterns split by gender too: Stoilov's support ran heavily male (620-282), while Mikler and Stepancic each pulled a notably larger female share.
- Day 2 flip · Mikler grabbed the lead by a 29% margin, fueled by Hungary
- Day 3 reversal · Stoilov retook the lead and closed it out at 34%
- Three-country split · Macedonia, Hungary and Croatia each backed a different finalist
- Runner-up without the crown · Stepancic finished second at 26.4% despite never leading a single day
