In a Facebook poll of 3,100 respondents, 29.5% chose “B - Lois Abbingh (Baia Mare)”. How we count
Ten candidates split this ballot so thin that Lois Abbingh's win rests on just 29.5% of the vote — meaning better than seven in ten voters picked someone else. Runner-up Ekaterina Ilina trailed by only seven points at 22.5%, and from there the field crumbled fast: Patricia Kovacs took 11%, and six more names fought over the scraps down to a final 1.1%.
Abbingh's plurality was concentrated, not broad: the Netherlands and Romania alone supplied roughly 800 of her 914 votes, close to a two-country mandate. Ilina grabbed the lead by day 4 on a wave of Russian and Ukrainian support, but Abbingh's home bases pulled her back in front by day 6, and the margin held flat near 29% for the rest of the poll's 16 days.
- Plurality, not majority · Winner took just 29.5% of the vote in a 10-name field
- Two countries, one winner · Netherlands and Romania alone supplied roughly 800 of her 914 votes
- Early lead flip · Ilina led by day 4 before Abbingh reclaimed it by day 6
- Split Sävehof vote · Teammates Ekenman-Fernis and Mellegard combined would've out-polled third place
