The time has come to settle this infuriating debate once and for all :') pls help us out in finding the correct definition of a placebo.. is it only used in medical procedures, to compare something real to something fake or is it the idea of something acting as something it isn't, eg. Sugar pills giving you a "placebo" effect because they don't do anything but convince you you're taking actual medication?? Pls help
