The verdict came from the base, not the fringe: barely a handful of self-identified fans weighed in on either side (5 vs. 1), and Germany's 159 votes plus a scattering from the U.S., Austria and beyond all broke the same way. Men outvoted women roughly 6-to-1 in the sample, but that shift changed nothing — the rejection was uniform.
