Kurt Angle led at the start, but Jeff Hardy took first place during the opening stretch and stayed there for the remainder. Hardy finished with 48.7%, ahead of Angle’s 36.8% and Mr. Anderson’s 14.5%.
The largest recorded country bloc, the United States, leaned toward Angle, creating a geographic counterpoint to Hardy’s overall win. Hardy’s final margin was 11.9 points.
