Romania cast more votes than any other country in this poll — 1,059 of them — and leaned toward Antonia Olar. It didn't matter. Andrei Ilie's strength in Italy, the UK, and Germany was enough to outweigh the biggest bloc's favorite, closing the poll just 79 votes ahead, 48% to 44.9% of 2,537 cast.
The race never settled into a coronation: the lead changed hands five times across 23 days. Andrei took it on day 3, lost it and retook it around day 7-8, watched Antonia grab it back on day 15, then flipped it again on day 16 — a turn that held for the last week of voting.
