In a Facebook poll of 11,056 respondents, 25.1% chose “Band of Builders”. How we count
Sophie's Journey opened strong, up 17% after day 1. By day 2, Band of Builders had blown past it into a 14% lead — and kept extending: 22% on day 3, a peak 25% by day 4. Linkage Community Trust chased into second late, but never got closer than 25% behind, and Band of Builders closed 14 days at 2,780 votes, 1,022 clear of second.
The rivalry split hard by gender. Band of Builders drew more men than women (835 to 638) — the only top charity to do so. Every close competitor ran the opposite way: Sophie's Journey went 561 female to 187 male, Lincolnshire Greyhound Trust 374 to 153, Rhys' Donation Foundation 370 to 124. Geography split too: the UK and US backed Band of Builders, while Ireland, Canada and Australia swung to the Greyhound Trust.
