Greyhound Friends of NC finished first with 251 votes, or 22.9%, in a sprawling 69-option nonprofit ballot. NC Tennis Foundation followed at 16.4%, while Hospice and Palliative Care took 10.7%.

The decisive shift came early, when Greyhound Friends overtook Forsyth Humane Society. After that, it remained the leading choice, despite the field’s broad spread.
