Watermelon launched at 58% and simply eroded, ounce by ounce, down to a 50% floor it held from day 12 through the finish — 1,534 votes, more than cantaloupe and honeydew combined. Cantaloupe never closed within 25 points; it just inherited the votes watermelon slowly gave up.
The margin came almost entirely from women: 82 female watermelon votes against just 4 male, a lopsided split no other option came close to matching. Cantaloupe drew a thinner 22-to-3 female lean, while honeydew and the write-in 'other' barely registered outside a handful of votes each.
