Mandarin Sky Seafood grabbed the early lead, but the race flipped fast: The Alley took over by day 3, then Tongara Ramen seized first place on day 4 and held it for nearly three weeks straight. With 10,824 votes cast across 78 restaurants, Tongara looked unbeatable — until the very final day.
On day 23, Holy Smokes BBQ surged past Tongara Ramen to steal the win, 438 votes to 418, a 20-vote margin decided in the last stretch. Women drove the finish, favoring Holy Smokes BBQ more than 2-to-1 over men (292 to 142). Filipino voters powered the whole poll, but expat pockets told their own story — Bulgaria rallied hard for Mehana Bulgarian Restaurant, and US voters leaned Earth Origins Marketplace+ Café.
