Jorge Siguenza led at the opening checkpoint and Juan David Vicuña moved ahead briefly, but Adrián López took control soon after and remained first through the finish. López won with 206 votes, ahead of Jhon Erazo’s 179.
The nine-way field stayed fragmented: López captured only 20.3%, while Ecuador’s largest voting bloc leaned toward Vicuña rather than the eventual winner.
