Angelo Acosta moved ahead in the opening stretch, replacing Phat Mac Tai at the front, then held the advantage through the remaining 30 days. He finished with 250 votes, or 23.2%, narrowly ahead of Gerard Chua’s 222.

That was a plurality, not a mandate: 12 candidates shared the vote, with the next three clustered between 7.9% and 8.6%. The Philippines, the largest country bloc, leaned Acosta.
