Support for allowing all frontline police officers to carry tasers dominated the vote, drawing 1,011 of 1,158 responses. “No” received 134 votes, while just 13 voters selected “Don’t know.”
The result was also heavily concentrated geographically: New Zealand supplied 917 votes, and that bloc leaned Yes. Women accounted for 590 Yes votes, compared with 396 from men.
