El esmirriado never trailed. He opened at 59% on day 1, dipped to 56% by day 3, and camped there for 50 straight days before nudging up to a settled 57% from day 52 onward — never letting go through the final stretch. El mentiroso trailed the whole way; Miki Almodóvar never broke 7%.
The real split wasn't who won — it's who put him there. Women backed El esmirriado more than 2-to-1 (2,442 to 1,236 men), while El mentiroso's support was a dead-even coin flip between genders (1,011 women, 1,061 men). Spain, the poll's biggest bloc at 715 votes, also leaned El esmirriado.
