Holly Atkinson won this 20-way field with just 990 votes — 27% of the total, barely ahead of Lilli Parker's 897. Nineteen rivals split the rest into slivers, several finishing under 1%. No one here earned a mandate; Atkinson simply lost the least.
Stranger still: the United Kingdom, source of roughly three in four votes cast, leaned toward Parker, not Atkinson. The winner's margin was built elsewhere — smaller pockets like the US and Ireland — while the largest single audience backed the runner-up the whole way.
