محمد المنصف المرزوقى won 81.8% of the vote, taking 958 ballots in a field of 27 candidates. His nearest challenger, محمد الباجى حسونة قايد السبسى, received only 4.4%.
The result was overwhelming from the opening checkpoint and remained around 82% thereafter. The largest listed country bloc, Tunisia, leaned toward المرزوقى as well.
