Who do you want Leading Labour?
by UK Politics
In a Facebook poll of 5,837 respondents, 40.9% chose “David Miliband”. How we count
From day one, David Miliband opened at 40% and never let go, holding a commanding lead through all 100 days without a single change at the top. Dianne Abbott stayed the fixed runner-up throughout, hovering around a third of his share while Ed Miliband, Ed Balls, Andy Burnham, and John McDonell trailed further back for the entire run.
The only real movement was cosmetic: Miliband's lead drifted from 40% down to 36% by the midpoint before creeping back to 37% in the final stretch, a squeeze-and-recover that never seriously threatened his position. The sharpest real-world split showed up geographically — France was the lone top country to buck the trend, leaning Andy Burnham while the UK, US, and everywhere else lined up behind Miliband.
- Wire-to-wire winner · David Miliband led all 100 days, 40.9% final share
- Abbott locked in second · Dianne Abbott held runner-up the entire race, 21.8%
- Mid-race squeeze · Lead narrowed from 40% to 36% by day 63, then recovered
- France goes rogue · France alone leaned Andy Burnham while other countries backed Miliband
